Cultural Encounter: Empanada Making

Connect, bake, and savor a Miami staple during this virtual empanada making and tasting class  with Maria Florencia “Fufi” Anaya of Fufi EmpanadasMake your own savory and sweet pastries as Florencia guides you through the process and shares her passion for empanadas, which was born from her Argentinian upbringing. While your treats bake, she will answer questions about the cultures, traditions, and ingredients that inspire her creations. You will also hear from the founders of artisanal shop Mima Market who will talk about the local makers movement and supporting handmade, sustainable products. Once the empanadas are done baking, the class will taste them together and continue the conversation.  

A class kit is included with your ticket price and features Fufi Empanadas signature dough and a selection of locally sourced ingredients to make four vegetarian empanadas. The kit also includes a pack of two ready-to-bake Fufi Empanadas. 

Class kits are available for pick-up starting Tuesday, September 15 at Mima Market (9725 NE 2nd Ave, Miami Shores, FL) from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. For delivery service (not included in ticket price), please contact Mima Market at 305-751-4300.
