Cultural Encounter: Garden, Cook, and Create with Herbs
This event is no longer on sale.
Learn from the experts during this virtual workshop with Semillas Coop, an urban agricultural project bringing organically produced, quality vegetables to the local community. This hands-on class will cover container gardening, as well as the medicinal and culinary uses for Cuban oregano and African blue basil, two easy-to-grow herbs for Miami’s climate. Using the materials in the workshop kit, participants will learn how to care for their own grow bag garden, how to make an herbal salt, and how to propagate their plants. The workshop will also feature the founders of artisanal shop Mima Market who will talk about the local makers movement and supporting sustainably made and locally grown products.
A class kit is included with your ticket price and features a grow bag garden complete with soil and plants, dehydrated Cuban oregano and African blue basil, and supplies for the herbal salt and propagation activities.
Class kits are available for pick-up starting Tuesday, January 5 at Mima Market (9725 NE 2nd Ave, Miami Shores, FL) from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM. For delivery service (not included in ticket price), please contact Mima Market at 305-751-4300.
